When Tomorrow Turns into Today: Teacher Laarni Davos

In life, everyone has dreams that they wish to accomplish. To make them happen, you must take some risks that will lead you to success. For teacher Laarni, she managed to take those risks and seize the day, and eventually turned her dreams into a reality.

It all started back in 2017 when teacher Laarni moved out of her parents’ house and started to build her family’s own home. It was a big risk because she did not have enough money on hand to build a house. So, she borrowed funds through a bank loan as her first step to making her dream come true. However, it worried her that it might take years for her to pay it back. Fortunately, 51Talk came along when she needed help the most.

Teacher Laarni would not have made it through those tough times if not for her friend who taught at 51Talk and who encouraged her to join the platform. Now, teacher Laarni has been teaching at 51Talk for three years while still working as a public school teacher.

For teacher Laarni, working both as a 51Talk online English teacher and a public school teacher is definitely not easy. Aside from her responsibilities teaching students from China and the Philippines, she also needs to make sure that she has enough time for her family as well. Back then, her parents jokingly said that she just got lucky. Now that teacher Laarni has gotten the same award, she burst out laughing when her parents heard the news and responded with, "Whose daughter are you?"

For teacher Laarni, it is truly an incredible feeling to receive another Top Teacher award from 51Talk. She said, "At one point, I felt overwhelmingly joyful that I literally heard the pounding of my heart, and I felt blessed to be one of the top 4 51Talk teachers nationwide. Lastly, I just looked up and thought I have a great God."

As of the moment, teacher Laarni's motivation to keep going at 51Talk are her students. Their little moments of learning and their smiling faces bring joy to her. In fact, she treats her students like her own children. Because of them, she will continue providing the best education and service that they deserve.

If it were not for 51Talk, teacher Laarni would have been struggling financially and would not have achieved her dreams today. Even though she doesn't have much, she was finally able to build and pay for their own family home, and this means a lot to her.

Teacher Laarni is glad that she took the risk of building her dream home despite not having enough money.
