Teacher Sid Austin is the epitome of positivity and dedication. Sid Austin became a first-time dad 16 years ago and according to him, fatherhood changed his life forever. “My wonderful kids inspire me more than anything else.” The father of three from Cavite draws inspiration in life from his very supportive family. “Family means to me the most.” He lovingly remembers how he took care of his late mother in her final years. He also talks about how he never regrets putting her first and missing opportunities to work overseas. It was when he became a 51Talk teacher in October of 2017 that he realized he did not need to leave the country to earn a living for his family. “I have a good life.”

For teacher Sid Austin, deciding to be a 51Talk teacher is not just the best decision he made, but a life-changing one. “This is one of the best jobs in the world.” Reminiscing about the early days of his 51Talk teaching journey, teacher Sid Austin talks about the challenges that he was able to overcome to be among the top 51Talk teachers of today. “I consider adjusting to each and every learner’s attitude and moods to be one of the greatest challenges to online English teaching.”

Almost three years into his 51Talk teaching journey, teacher Sid Austin does not only provide the best lessons to his students, but he is also a source of inspiration to his fellow 51Talk teachers. He openly talks about how much he loves being a 51Talk teacher and the sacrifices he is willing to make for his family and his profession. “I can recall an accident I had while rushing to an early morning lesson where I slipped and obtained a deep cut on my eyebrow. I went to teach my students as usual until I could go to the hospital during my break.” He calls on his fellow 51Talk teachers to embrace the golden opportunity they have been given. “We should give teaching from home with 51Talk our all because we have a lot to be thankful for like having a consistent schedule with regular breaks. We are lucky to still be able to provide for the needs of our families in the midst of these trying times.”
