Basic Qualifications
To begin your teaching journey, you should meet the following:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Strong spoken English with a neutral accent
- Valid diploma or proof of graduation, NBI clearance, and a government-issued ID
- Experience teaching English to young learners or international students is an advantage
- Teaching certifications (TESOL, TEFL) or a professional teaching license are preferred but not required

51Talk encourages availability during peak student demand hours to maximize lesson bookings. Each lesson runs for 25 minutes, allowing flexible schedule planning.
Peak Teaching Hours (Manila Time):
- Weekdays (Mon–Fri): 6:00 PM – 2:30 AM
- Weekends (Sat–Sun): 9:00 AM – 2:30 AM
Greater availability during these hours increases booking opportunities and teaching consistency.

For Home-Based Online English Teachers
To deliver high-quality online lessons from home, the following setup is required:
- Desktop or laptop computer
- OS: Windows 10 or higher
- CPU: Intel Core i3 (8th gen or higher) or equivalent / AMD Ryzen
- Memory: At least 8 GB RAM and 100 GB free disk space
- Internet: Wired connection, minimum 25 Mbps
- Noise-cancelling headset with extended microphone
- HD webcam (minimum 720p)
For Center-Based Online English Teachers
No personal equipment is required. Teaching equipment, stable internet, and a fully prepared teaching environment are provided onsite at the center, allowing teachers to focus solely on delivering quality online English lessons.
