Dyan Belle grew up away from her parents but her family life changed when she was referred by a friend and became a 51Talk teacher.
PhBEE Club Captain Dyan Belle is from Norzagaray, Bulacan. She was a former store manager at a fast food chain. Before being given the opportunity to teach at home with 51Talk, she barely had time for herself, let alone her family. “I had to travel to and from our distant part of Bulacan to Ortigas every day. I had to get up at around four in the morning, get home at around ten in the evening, and then have dinner quickly so I can wash up and go to bed within only half an hour of getting home.”
Her family life changed when teacher Dyan Belle was referred by a friend and became a 51Talk teacher in October of 2017. During that time, she had just left her job and was looking forward to giving herself a break and spending more time with her family. “I thought about doing things I wasn’t able to do while I was in a demanding job. So when I was offered a job opportunity that was time-flexible in nature, I grabbed it.”
She is currently a Master Teacher B and served as a captain for three different clubs - Bulacan Blue, Amber, and Bisque. She is thankful, not just for the opportunity to earn while spending more time at home with her family, but for all the learning opportunities she has received as part of 51Talk and plans on staying on the platform for good. “It is never just about teaching in 51Talk. Being part of the PhBEE Club, for one, has given me ample opportunities to hone many different skills. I even get to practice the things I’ve learned in my degree to the tasks I do as a captain.”
Dyan Belle grew up away from her parents. She witnessed how her father left for several months at a time and even years because he worked in remote places within the country. She spent her childhood in Iloilo while her mother was working for the provincial government of Bulacan. When her parents retired, she initially thought that after she earned her degree in business administration from UP Visayas, it was her turn to leave.
She is most grateful that she found this opportunity with 51Talk because according to her, she is now spending more time with her parents. With tears in her eyes, she remarked, “I can say my family is more bonded now than ever.”
