Teacher Dyan Belle: Growing in Gratitude

We must be thankful for all the challenges we face in life because they only make us better. This is something that Teacher Dyan Belle knows from experience. She struggled as a young person growing up and never dreamed that she would be in a place where she will be touching other people's lives.” I never imagined myself being a teacher to young children. Imparting knowledge and having considerable influence during a child’s crucial learning years seemed to be a responsibility that was too much for me to handle, but this is where I was happily proven wrong. I am now a Master Teacher B in 51Talk and this is what I am most thankful for.”

Teacher Dyann Belle has been teaching with the 51Talk platform since 2017 and has since transformed into a better teacher and a person. “Through 51Talk, I was able to grow from a timid person to someone who can make hundreds of friends across the country and beyond. Who would have thought that teaching online from the comfort of my own home would allow me to connect with more people than I ever had in the past?”

Thankful for PhBEE Club Bulacan

A growing community of 51Talk teachers in Bulacan is where teacher Dyann Belle met a lot of amazing peers. She is thankful to have met them because each member treats each other with respect, love, and trust. The PhBEE club is also where teachers exchange tips and pointers on how to do their teaching effectively. She is currently a PhBEE Club Captain, a leader who assists her members. “I view being a PhBEE Captain as a blessing for me to teach, advise, and assist my fellow teachers. It is a way for me to give back to everyone who has helped me improve as a teacher – the trainers who taught me, the coaches and supervisors who guided me, my fellow teachers I shared memories with, and my students from whom I have learned as well.”

Gratitude to Her Students and Peers

Teacher Dyan Belle understands that the Chinese people often have a very hectic schedule. Considering this fact, she makes it a point that her students enjoy and have fun during their classes. “I make my students relax and enjoy themselves during our English lessons as much as possible. I make them smile, through an exaggerated joke, a wacky face, or a simple compliment. I make sure our lessons are laid-back. This is my way of saying, thank you for trusting me.”

Thinking back on how much she has grown and developed since her first day with 51Talk, she feels both proud and humbled, all thanks to the people who believed in and supported her throughout her continuous 51Talk journey. “I will always be grateful for the opportunities and encouragement given to me by 51Talk. The gratitude that I feel drives my commitment to give back and gives meaning to what I do.”
