After years of working in the hospitality industry, teacher Angel Sali yearned for more. That’s when she found 51Talk and started her journey to teaching.
Everyone wants to live a fulfilling and happy life. For teacher Angel Sali, she found the fulfillment that she was looking for after starting a new journey as an online English teacher with 51Talk. Before she started teaching, she worked as a hotelier for almost a decade. As she shared during her talk, despite being in a long-running career, she did not have work-life balance, which made her miss family occasions and opportunities to spend time with her family. After leaving the hospitality industry, she decided to teach EFL and found 51Talk online. She joined 51Talk because the team members and the whole recruitment process made a great impression on her.
Since joining the platform four years ago, she has reached Master Teacher B and has become a PHBEE Club Co-Captain for club Cebu Butterscotch. She has also gained one of the highest teacher tags on the platform, namely SK-12, H5, and Level K. Moreover, since February 2020, she has become a home-based mentor, and she has even received the title of Top Home-based Mentor of 2020 in 51Talk. Of course, she was also recently invited to speak and share her experience with aspiring and fellow 51Talk teachers on 51TEDTalk.
Outside of 51Talk, she now has more time for her interests such as traveling, cooking, watching movies, creating inspirational vlogs, listening to music, and, of course, spending time with her family. 51Talk enables her to have the work-life balance she has always wanted because of the platform’s flexible teaching schedule.
She shares that 51Talk has helped her every single day of her life, especially at the start of the pandemic. She is very grateful that 51Talk enables her to support her and her family’s needs continuously. The preparation for 51TEDTalk required hours to collate my ideas, photos, and speech for the presentation. Despite doing this extra work after my lessons at night, sharing all the things that I have gone through these past four years on the platform was all worth it and very valuable.”
Currently, she’s motivated to inspire her fellow teachers continually. Her vision is to share another chapter of her 51Talk journey with more teachers in the future.
